Medications that can Cause Deafness
From the House Ear Clinic: Many commonly prescribed medications that control a targeted disease, or alleviate symptoms such as chronic pain, can also destroy a patient's ability to hear. Because of this harmful side effect, these drugs are said to be ototoxic. Ototoxic drugs include aminoglycoside antibiotics used against tuberculosis, diuretics, platinum-based chemotherapy agents, anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-malarial medications and painkillers that combine hydrocodone and acetaminophen such as Vicodin®. Acetaminophen is an analgesic sold over the counter as Tylenol®. Scientists at the clinic have been researching to find out how these drugs cause deafness and have discovered the outer hair cells of the inner ear are targeted and they die. They don't yet know why the drug activates a signaling mechanism inside the auditory cell that induces cell death. Please use caution when using
these or any other drugs.
The First Chakra
When the world seems to be operating in chaos, and there are many people operating in chaos energy right now, it is important to strengthen and honor our foundational chakra, or first chakra. The first chakra is a foundation of emotional and mental health. This is our connection to our sense of identity and a sense of belonging to a group (tribe). Related organs: base of the spine, legs, bones, feet, rectum, immune system. Physical effects: chronic lower back pain and depression. Personal issues include standing up for yourself, identity, loyalty, and abandonment fears. Clear your first chakra and meditate on this sacred truth: We are One.
