Helmets Help Prevent Brain Damage
When NFL players collide they exert
100 times the force of gravity--the
kind of force present in a car crash.
Approximately 230,000 concussions
are happening among pros, college,
and young football players each year.
There is growing concern over the long-term
effects of brain injury--headache, nausea, and
short-term memory loss are the signs of
injury, but rarely spotted or reported by
players eager to get back into the game.
IEEE Spectrum magazine reports that
the HIT (head impact telemetry) System,
developed by Simbex, contains several
meters and sensors to detect potential
brain injuries. During 2003 college players
were outfitted with the helmets and it was
discovered that they endured blows from
1 to 1599 GSIs to the head. A human head
can withstand a GSI of 1000 without serious injury.
The aim of these helmets is to measure
impact history and remove players from a game
before serious injury occurs. The data already
collected by using these helmets has shown
that most concussions occur on the side
of the head, rather than the front or top of the
head as was always assumed.
Studies show that there is a link between
football-related concussions and memory
problems and brain dysfunction. In 2006
Andre Waters, a retired Philadelphia Eagle
was suffering from depression and committed
suicide. The autopsy revealed that his
brain had deteriorated to the extent of
an 85 year old with Alzheimer's disease.
An NFL spokesman said that each player
gets to pick the type of helmet he wears.

IPT Therapy
IPT (Insulin Potentiation Therapy) which is low dose
chemotherapy, may be a kinder and more gentler way
to treat cancer, while minimizing side effects. IPT
uses a much lower dose of the chemo drugs because
the treatments target only cancer cells, not the good cells.
What does insulin have to do with cancer cells? Cancer
cells feed on glucose (sugar) in the body and cancer
cells actually manufacture and secrete their own
insulin. Cancer cells have ten times more insulin receptors
per cell than any of the normal cells in the body. This
means that the insulin administered will have a ten times
greater effect on cancer cells than on normal cells.
I met Dr. Les Breitman at a conference and he is a caring
man and expert on IPT.

Poison Ivy Relief
If you come into contact with poison ivy, within
10 minutes swab the affected area with rubbing alcohol
and quickly wash with lots of cold water. This helps
remove the oil present in the ivy that causes allergic
skin reactions. Courtesy of The Farmers Almanac.

Cell Phone Users Alert
It seems everyone is addicted to their
cell phone (s). Because we are in the
wireless age and cell phones and computers
are not going away, we must protect ourselves
from the EMF (electromagnetic frequencies)
and EMR (electromagnetic radiation) generated
by cell phones, PDAs, desktop and laptop
computers and even household appliances.

I have personally always been cautious about
being on my cell phone, especially after
having the surgeries on my head. I researched
for the best protectors in the industry, and
I believe so strongly in their products that
I have decided to market them. Please get
